I have lived in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham for most of my life. Until I was 7, I lived in a house on Leamington Road, which is now the site of Nelson Mandela School. I attended Anderton Park Primary. We moved away when I was 7, but I returned to Balsall Heath in 1994 and have lived here ever since. My children have grown up here. I have been a school governor, charity trustee, and housing co-op treasurer, for organisations in Balsall Heath. My office is at the Old Print Works in Balsall Heath. I survived the Balsall Heath Tornado in 2006.
