Questions 10 and 11- billing/metering data

If you have electronic bills please upload them as a pdf or jpg.  If you have paper bills, please scan them or take a photo and upload it as a pdf or jpg.

If you have a smart meter and you are able to download the smart meter data as a spreadsheet, please do so as this is preferable to scans of bills.  If you don’t then just upload the bills.  

For example – if you are an Octopus Energy customer then go to your dashboard, click on Explore My Energy Use and it will take you to a screen that looks like this, from which you can download spreadsheets for both gas and electricity (we need both please)

Not all energy suppliers make the smart meter data available to you.  If yours doesn’t then you can still download the data from this website – https://data.n3rgy.com/consumer/home You will need your meter point reference number (gas) and meter point administration number (electricity) from your bill and your MAC/CIN/GUID/EUI number from your smart meter’s in-home display – click here for guidance on finding this number.

If you have a traditional (non-smart) prepayment meter then you don’t need to answer question 1 or 2, unless you have received a paper electronic statement of account from your supplier, in which case please upload it.

Questions 13-15 – Energy Performance Certificates

 

If there is a current Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for your home, you can find it here

Please give us the certificate URL – it will look something like this – https://find-energy-certificate.service.gov.uk/energy-certificate/285x-100x-127x-467x-320x or the certificate number – it will look something like this 285x-100x-127x-467x-320x  Alternatively please download the certificate and upload it as a pdf.

If your EPC is more than 10 years old, or if you have lived at this address since 2007 or before, then you won’t find an EPC, but don’t worry about it, just check the box to say that you don’t have an EPC and move on to the next question.
